Welcome to the internet home of Clark University Hillel, the student group that celebrates Jewish culture, identity, pluralism, and community! This site is designed to provide information about Clark Hillel and serve as a place for Clark "Hillelians" past, present, and future to gather in community. To access all of the features that this site has to offer please be sure to register and/or log in on the left side of the page. Thank you and L'Hitraot - we hope to see you soon!

Week One 2008!

Clark University Hillel is ecstatic to welcome Clark's newest students to campus! See the upcoming events calendar (upper right of the page) or your Week One schedule to learn about the exciting Hillel events this week.

Also, just because we are your surrogate Jewish mother at Clark, Hillel is giving away free iced coffee, iced tea, bagels and cream cheese, so you shouldn’t go hungry. Meet Hillel’s leaders, learn more about this active and dynamic group, and sign up to become a member, if you wish. All are welcome all week long (and forever) in the Hillel office on the 3rd floor of the University Center.

If you have any questions or just want to say hi, you can find our contact info on the "Contact Us" page, or you can email our Hillel student leadership and staff directly from our "Leadership" pages (links on the left).

We look forward to meeting you soon!

Week One: Make Your Own Ice Cream Sundaes with Karaoke

08/31/2008 - 10:30pm
08/31/2008 - 11:59pm

The Higgins Cafeteria, University Center, 1st Floor

Just in case you didn't have enough junk food at Six Flags... Clark Hillel, the student group that celebrates Jewish culture, identity, pluralism, community, and delicious frozen desserts hosts an all you can eat ice cream extravaganza and karaoke/sing-along night! Make your own sundaes, with all the fixings. We’ll even have some sorbet for the lactose intolerant.

Week One: A Taste of Shabbat

08/29/2008 - 6:00pm
08/29/2008 - 7:30pm

Grace, Lurie, and Rosenblatt Conference Rooms, University Center, 1st floor (between the StudCo office and the Info Desk)

Learn about and celebrate the Jewish Sabbath, a Divinely inspired gift of cessation and rest (and believe us, you will need it). Stop by to meet leaders of Clark Hillel and celebrate Shabbat with your classmates!

Join us for some schmoozing, praying, and eating.
There will be your choice of two student-led erev Shabbat services. One is a more liberal service, and one is a more traditional-egalitarian service.

Afterwards we will have a light Shabbat meal together before continuing on to other Shabbat or Week One activities together.

Summer 2008!

Clark is on summer break, and so is Hillel, so our calendar of programs (normally about six programs a week!) is not in full swing right now. Our regular schedule will commence when classes begin again in early September. We will begin to update this website's calendar of events when we firm up our schedule for Week One (first year orientation) and other Hillel events in the first few weeks of school. Look for those updates, and others to come later in the summer.

In the meantime, if you are on campus during the summer, please stop by the Clark Hillel office on the 3rd Floor of the Higgins University Center (UC) to say hello to Hillel Director David Coyne (who will be in the office frequently throughout the summer), to have a free bagel with a shmear and some iced coffee! If you would like to meet with David for a specific reason, please call the Hillel office at (508)793-7296.

Clark University Hillel wishes you a great summer and we hope that it is relaxing and enriching for you, and we are excited to meet new friends and rekindle old friendships when we all return to Worcester in September.

As always, if you have any questions please feel free to give us a call (508)793-7296 or send us an email at hillel@clarku.edu. You may also get in touch with us through the "contact us" page (linked in the menu at the top of the screen).

L'Hitraot! See you soon!

Pictures Come to the Clark Hillel Website!

You can now see pictures from various Hillel events right here on the Clark Hillel website!

Click on "photo galleries" on the left to see the photos.

We will add more photos from other events soon.

Enjoy!

About Clark Hillel

About Clark Hillel:
Clark Hillel is the student group that celebrates Jewish culture, identity, pluralism, and community. We are proud to be one of Clark's most visible, most collaborative, and most active student groups. And we have the most student members of any group on campus. We welcome everyone to our events, students and non-students, Clarkies and folks from other schools, Jews and non-Jews, but we primarily serve students from the Colleges of Worcester Consortium schools.
